DIY Remodel Farmhouse Style With Industrial Touches

Farmhouse Style With Industrial Touches

My husband and I bought our “first” home together just days before Christmas 2017.  Once the keys were in our hands, it’s been non-stop work on the house up until we moved in the end of January.  Our over all look is farmhouse style with touches of  industrial finishes.

Our focus was to get the upstairs done, move in, and then finish the basement.  Currently our home is a 3 bedroom and 2 1/2 bath. When the work is completed we will have 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths,  and a large office, craft/storage room for me.

Let The DIY Remodel Begin

We got to work immediately, I started by painting all the rooms upstairs, as well as our kitchen and bathroom cabinets.  We also installed crown molding and new hardware on the kitchen cabinets.  My husband Glen, began building  an addition to add a large  pantry with a small laundry area off of our kitchen.

From there, we installed new floors in the pantry, and both upstairs bathrooms.  Glen put up wainscoting in our dining room and the bathrooms that I painted white.

In the kitchen Glen installed white subway tile, with a gray colored grout.  We also installed new lighting in the kitchens and bathrooms.

The Finishing Touches.

From there we had new carpet installed upstairs and down our stairwell.  Glen installed industrial looking shelves in our dining room that I stained and he bolted to metal brackets that he welded and made.

Our kitchen is  small,  so we went white throughout with touches of light gray, and for an added touch of color I trimmed out the dining room door in a dark gray paint for a nice added contrast.

I will be posting more posts with detailed descriptions and photos of our DIY remodel.  So keep checking back!

God Bless
