Mom’s Repurposed End Tables

Repurposed End Tables by DIY

Y’all, these tables were my moms that she had since the early 90’s. All they needed was some TLC!

My step-daughter is now the owner of the tables and she wanted us to repurpose them, so we did!

What We Did…

The only repairs needed was the drawer tracks and one of the table tops needed bolted together again.  My husband Glen took care of all of that, then he sanded the tables before we painted them.

We painted the tables with Heirloom Traditions all in one paint in the Iron Gate color, it did take two coats.

The glass tops used to be see through, however, for this project I felt that frosted glass would look so much nicer with the dark color of the tables, and it does!

For the glass, all  you do is clean the glass, let dry completely, then spray paint the bottom part of the glass for the frosted look. You spray the bottom so that the top part of the glass stays smooth. We used Krylon Frosted Glass (semi-transparent) spray paint from Lowes.

For the hardware on the drawers, I chose to paint those with Krylon Fusion All In One, in metallic gold, also from Lowes.

Finishing It Up…

Then for the finishing touch I cleaned the inside of the drawers and allowed for dry time. I lined them with Peel and Stick Laminate that I purchased from Lowes. The laminate is very elegant with a gray color design on it, but in some light looks gold.  Either way, it goes with the table color or the hardware! I really like how it all came together!

The Results… Loving it!

I love seeing my moms tables in a new style and purpose! I think she would have loved them as much as my step-daughter and I do!
