DIY Sharpie Art Using Dollar Tree Mugs

Make your own unique mugs by using sharpies, and coffee mugs bought for just a dollar a piece at The Dollar Tree!

I wanted something unique to hang above our coffee/breakfast bar.  I also wanted it be cheap and easy to do! After looking on Pintrest for ideas, that is when I first saw Sharpie Art on mugs and dishes! I really liked how it all looked, so I wanted to give it a try!

I took a trip to The Dollar Tree to see what I could find, and that’s where I purchased these white mugs for just a $1.00 each! They also had plates and bowls to match. For now I just wanted to make the mugs for this DIY project.

A wide view of our breakfast/coffee bar, and the mugs I made using sharpies.

How to make the sharpie mug

I free handed on the mugs by drawing or using dots to make the theme of The Four Seasons. As you can see a Spring, Summer, Fall, and finishing with a Winter mug.

You just let it dry for 24 hours. Then put in a cold oven and set the temperature at 425 degrees for 30 minutes and then leave them in the oven to cool down so that the mugs won’t crack. It’s supposed to be washable and not wipe off by doing the baking process….we will see! 😊 I am happy with how they turned out! .
